We have been living in NM for the past few months with our families until we move out to DC in September. It has been so fun to watch our parents transition into the grandparent role. This sweet baby is well loved and everything she does is so entertaining! And I can't believe how much more fun she is! Here are some things about Lucy from the past month:
-At her two month appointment, she was 22 1/2inch, and 10lbs 9oz. This baby is definitely on the skinnier end! And it is because she is a mover. (Whenever she is awake, she is constantly squirming, kicking, or flapping her limbs.) I've had numerous people tell me that they have never seen a baby her age so active before...she's been like that ever since she could move in utero! Haha. Even though she is happy and healthy, I can't help but feel like I'm depriving my baby of food when people say that she is skinny or looks small....but trust me...I feed her plenty....like every two hours...haha.
Also, watching your baby get shots is the WORST! Seriously. JT and I were both wimps and teared up along side her. Boo shots.
-Because she is so wiggly, she's learned to roll front to back a week or two ago. She is getting really close on back to front! She manages to get her face and most of her legs, but can't quite figure out what to do with her arms.
It's funny, I never thought I'd been one of those moms who wants to brag about her infants accomplishments....I mean, every infant learns to do these things....but here I am, feeling the need to mention it on my blog updates...terribly sorry....
-Her first month was awful with sleeping. As in, I was lucky if I got 2-3 hours of sleep and most likely I would be sitting upright holding her as I dozed. That being said, I feel pretty fortunate that Lucy has figured out night from day and will sleep in her bed! She gives us about 7-8 hours at night before waking up to eat (usually around 6am) and then goes back to sleep for a couple of hours. I feel like I have gotten my sanity back a little bit.
-She is a super smiler! She started smiling around 6 weeks and hasn't stopped since. I love it. She is constantly cooing and smiling. (Of course, when I start to tell people how smiley she is, she refuses to give them a grin...defiance already!)
-She likes to be held looking out and moving. She's a curious cat.
Needless to say, she is well loved and we are enjoying her immensely! Here are a few pictures from the past few weeks:
She is SO so so cute!
ReplyDeleteShe is gorgeous! And feel free to brag away about her accomplishments! You are doing a great job :)
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you guys were still in Provo or if you had moved back east yet...so fun you get to spend some time in NM. After we get settled in North Carolina, Will and I want to plan a trip to D.C. cuz it's only a few hours away, so we will have to try and meet up! I love all your pictures and darling Lucy; she is growing so fast! Hope you guys are doing well!
ReplyDeleteYes!! If you want to come up for a few days and need a place to crash, feel free to use us! (You might have to sleep on an air mattress, but we'd love to have you guys!) Yay! I'm so glad you guys are moving out east!
