Birthday and 3. Visit the Utah Pioneer Museum

Last Saturday was my 22nd birthday. I am so happy to be 22. And J made me feel special the entire day, which was was wonderful. He started off the day by letting me sleep in...Seriously, the man knows me like the back of his hand. It was awesome. After I finally woke up, he brought me breakfast in bed (and he did all of the laundry, cleaned the kitchen, and the dishes) . Prince Charming?-I think yes. Unfortunately, I had LOADS of homework (silly senior thesis) and I had to spend the rest of the morning doing it. Yuck. Homework on a birthday? For reals?

It was alright though because we went to lunch at a Japanese restaurant. Mt. Fuji to be precise (yum). I love Asian food, but I'll be honest- I try and I try to like sushi, but I just can't bring myself to enjoy the slimy raw fish encompassed by rice and seaweed. So instead I ordered some tempura veggies and it was delicious.

JT was pretty hungry and almost ate my dish before his came.

Who doesn't need a picture of themselves growling on their birthday? haha.I had never tried fried ice cream before, so we ordered it. I was pretty delicious. If you haven't ever tried, then you should.

JT also gave me these awesome Toms. Probably the best shoes I own.I've been in need of a new backpack for a while, so JT took me to REI to pick one out. I use my backpack for everything (school, hiking, traveling, sleeping, frolicking...you name it), so it had to be sturdy. And I love North Face. The result was this super cool bag:

After all of that, we went to the Daughters of Utah Pioneer Memorial Museum. It was on our list and we happened to also be house-sitting up in Sandy last week, so we decided to go. It was one of the craziest museums I have been to for a while, which also made it awesome. Seriously, it was packed with stuff from the pioneers or that century....things were literally everywhere. The clothes throughout the museum were awesome, and there were tons of interesting trinkets. There was even a cake from the early 1900s. I have no idea how it survived that long. There was an entire room filled with old dolls in cases....I don't know what it is about a bunch of dolls in a room, but it is kind of freaky. JT told me that when I blog about this I needed to put: "I'm now 22 and still afraid of dolls." haha. It is definitely worth a visit and it is totally free.
JT told me that he was going to bake me a birthday treat. In the evening, he pulled out a frozen pie and said "Ta-da." (The people were housing-sitting for had left it in the freezer for us to use.) Even though I wanted to see JT bake, it was still delicious. :)
