J and I went to Gettysburg to celebrate our 2nd anniversary in July. We enjoy history, so it was neat to be able to visit this national cemetery. The museum was also really well done, with a lot of explanations and examples of various clothing, machinery, weaponry, and medicinal supplies used during the Civil War. After visiting the cemetery, we drove around the town of Gettysburg. It was full of small town stores and diners, as well as many people dressed in period attire. I wish I had snapped pictures of the townsfolk ....I loved it. It was fun to get out of the District for a little bit and experience a more rural, slow-paced portion of the East.
